Leading up to the Challenger League Playoffs I asked RealityTV’s Packer about his expectations and thoughts.
You’re coming off a flawless regular season, what are the expectations for playoffs? Flawless 2-0s across the board?
Our gameplan going into playoffs is to focus on our game, make sure we do all our fundamentals and to pace ourselves so we don’t get tired out. We are ok with losing a map as long as we win the series. In Bo3 its all about endurance and we wanna be the team that comes out on top.
Expectations are to win the series in any fashion. We don’t care about map count.
You’re facing off against 1Shot for the semifinals, what are your thoughts about this matchup?
My thoughts on the 1Shot matchup are its a hard matchup for us as a team. They were the team that put up the best fight against us during the stage and we need to be on the top of our game to beat them. They are a strong fundamental team and if we are lacking behind then we will just play straight into their gameplan.
Your team has played a lot of different maps across the stage, are there any worries that you’ve shown too much of your map pool?
I think our map pool hasn’t really been shown. We have reworked some of the maps we played and at the end of the day, you can’t completely off a map being shown once. Our map pool going into playoffs is still looking really strong, [it] just depends on how we play during the map.
RTV has been very clutch, with both you and Tristan in the top 5 clutchers on SiegeGG at 3 a piece. Is there something about the way this team plays or communicates that sets you up so well to win those rounds with man disadvantage?
Me and Tristan have been able to clutch up a lot due to the teamplay this team has. Most rounds are 3v3 or 3v2s with a minute on letf, which is crucial for clutch scenarios since when attacking teams have less time to execute mistakes start to be made, which allows for clutches. Tristan is crazy mechanically and aim-wise so its a lot easier for him to win unfavorable gunfights while I’m more a positional player.
Even in those clutch scenarios its still a team effort for letting those situations become winnable.
